SAL deel 4, een duimpje

Deze leuke foto kreeg ik van Renée. En Renée houd niet alleen van borduren, ze heeft ook al verschillende mutsjes gebreid voor de kinderen in India.

I did recieve this photo from Renée. And Renée not only likes to stitch, she made also some caps for the children in India.

Deel 4 van de SAL wordt iets wat ik zelf een erg handig dingetje vind, een speldenkussentje dat je om je duim kunt doen. Zo heb je altijd je beide handen vrij en toch de spelden vlak in de buurt.

Part 4 of the SAL is something I personally find very useful, a pincushion that you can do on your thumb. So you always have your hands free and still pins close by.

Omdat de handen van iedereen weer anders zijn heb ik geen standaard afmetingen voor dit duimpje maar dat is simpel zelf te berekenen. Meet de omtrek van je duim op de plek waar hij aan je hand vast zit (sorry, ik weet het even niet anders te omschrijven.) Het diagonaal van het lapje dat je gaat maken moet net zo groot zijn als de omtrek van je duim.
Is je duim 5 centimeter, dan moet het lapje van de ene punt naar de schuin tegenovergelegen punt ook 5 centimeter zijn.

Because the hands of everybody are else, I have no standard dimensions for this but is easy to calculate it yourself. Measure the circumference of your thumb on the spot where it stuck to your hand (sorry, i have not better way to describe it.) The diagonal of the patch you are going to stitch has to be as large as the circumference of your thumb.
When you thumb is 5 centimeters, then the piece from one point to the diagonally opposite point has to be 5 centimeters also.
