Bedankt voor al jullie reacties op mijn nieuwe SAL. Veel van jullie hebben al aangegeven mee te willen doen en hebben gevraagd hoe ze zich kunnen aanmelden.
Simpel... aanmelden is niet nodig. Je kunt vanaf november de patroondelen downloaden en beginnen met borduren. Heb je in november geen tijd om Hamelen te borduren dan begin je gewoon later. De patronen blijven op mijn weblog staan.

Yoyo kwam met de handige suggestie om alvast de maten door te geven voor de mensen die eventueel stof moeten gaan bestellen.
Het complete patroon is:

105 steken hoog
268 steken breed

Hierbij zijn er dus geen steken rondom over. Dit is uitsluitend het geborduurde gedeelte!

Het is al een poosje rustig op mijn blog omdat ik het nu even druk heb met andere dingen maar.....

In november begint er een nieuwe SAL. Dit keer niet een klein dingetje maar een grotere lap waar ik veel reacties op heb gehad.

De nieuwe SAL wordt: Hamelen
Het wordt een SAL in 8 delen waarbij we aan de rechterkant beginnen te borduren en dan naar links toe werken.

Binnenkort lees je er alles over op dit blog.

Making the neelderoll

Uitleg naaldenrolletje

Hier is hij dan eindelijk, de uitleg voor het naaldenrolletje.
Zoals ik al eerder schreef zijn er verschillende manieren om hem in elkaar te zetten. Dit is niet de mooiste, wel een van de makkelijkste...

Afhankelijk van hoe groot / dik je het naaldenrolletje wilt maken borduur je langs de zijkanten een rij stiksteken. Ik heb dit gedaan op 3 steken vanaf de rand van het borduurwerk. Op deze manier sluit de afbeelding op de achterkant niet aan, maar wordt het rolletje wel wat dikker.

Voor de boven en onderkant heb ik op 25 steken vanaf het borduurwerk een rand horizontale stiksteken gemaakt. Dit doe je het makkelijkste door aan de verkeerde kant van de stof een rij halve kruisjes te borduren. Als je het werk nu omdraait zie je een rand met vertikale steekjes. Deze rand voorkomt dat de stof gaat rafelen.

Knip langs de lange kanten de stof af tot ongeveer 4-5 steken vanaf het borduurwerk. Als je hier teveel stof laat zitten is de stof later moeilijker samen te trekken voor de boven- en onderkant.

Aan de boven- en onderkant knip je de stof af op 3 steken vanaf de vertikale stiksteken. Wil je langere franje aan je naaldenrolletje, laat dan meer steken zitten.

Naai de lange kanten vast met de biscornu manier. (meer uitleg hierover vind je bij de biscornu).

Ravel nu de boven- en onderkant uit tot op de vertikale steken.

Gebruik voor het samentrekken van de stof geen borduurgaren (dit knapt) maar stevig naaigaren. Eventueel kun je een dubbele draad gebruiken.

Begin aan de achterkant van de rol, op 12 steken afstand van het borduurwerk de draad door de stof te rijgen. Dit wordt het mooiste als je kleine steekjes maakt.

Als je helemaal in het rond bent trek je de draad stevig aan. Waarschijnlijk sluit de stof nu niet helemaal. Dit is eenvoudig te verhelpen door de draad een paar keer rond de stof te draaien en hem strak aan te trekken. Dit lijkt nu niet zo mooi, maar als je het lintje erom heen hebt gemaakt zie je er niets meer van. Hecht de draad stevig af.

Rijg nu ook alvast de andere kant, maar trek de draad nog niet strak aan.

Vul het naaldenrolletje. Begin met kleine plukjes vulsel zodat het goed in de plooien van het rolletje kan komen. Als het rolletje helemaal gevuld is trek je de draad stevig aan. De verdere afwerking is net als bij de andere kant.

Je naaldenrolletje is nu bijna klaar. Strik aan beide kanten een lintje die je eventueel nog vast kunt zetten met een klein steekje.

Veel plezier met je naaldenrolletje.

LET OP: alle hier genoemde afmetingen zijn zoals ik ze gebruikt heb. Je kunt dit zelf aanpassen als je wilt.

Helaas, het is me niet gelukt om vandaag de beschrijving voor het naaldenrolletje af te krijgen. Ik ga proberen om hem morgen te plaatsen en anders staat hij er maandag zeker op.

Naaldenrol SAL. Deel 1

Vandaag deel 1 van de nieuwe SAL. Ik hoop dat jullie er allemaal net zoveel plezier mee hebben als met mijn eerdere SAL's.

Het geborduurde deel wordt 50 steken breed en 60 steken hoog.

Houd er rekening mee dat je aan de zijkanten voldoende stof overhoud om het rolletje in elkaar te zetten (15-20 steken extra is voldoende).
En dat je aan de boven en onderkant genoeg stof hebt om het rolletje dicht te binden.

Bij mijn rolletje had ik eigenlijk niet genoeg stof over. Ruim gerekend is 40 steken per kant genoeg.

Op zoek naar een beschrijving hoe ik hem het beste in elkaar kon zetten kwam ik op verschillende sites. Daar staan erg mooie naaldenrolletjes op, maar de beschrijving vind ik niet altijd even duidelijk. In één beschrijving moest je draden uit de stof trekken. Dit is bij de meeste stof niet zo moeilijk maar draden uit aida trekken, terwijl de rest op zijn plaats blijft zitten vond ik toch een beetje ingewikkeld.

Dat moest ook anders kunnen. Mijn naaldenrol bestaat uit 1 lapje waar geen draden uit getrokken hoeven te worden en die eenvoudig in elkaar te zetten is.

Eigenlijk is het wel leuk om er een nieuwe SAL van te maken.
Iedere woensdag en zaterdag komt er een stukje van het patroon. Na 7 keer is het patroon compleet en volgt een beschrijving voor het in elkaar zetten.

Het eerste deel komt aanstaande woensdag, 22 juli 2009. En net als met de biscornu hoef je niet de techniek voor blackwork te kennen, simpele stiksteken is genoeg.

Totally Useless SAL

Het is weer eens iets anders... een totaal nutteloze SAL.
De bedoeling is dat je al je restdraadjes, papiertjes van strengetjes garen enz. in een potje stopt en bij elke nieuwe maan zet je op je weblog een foto van je draadjes en vertel je even kort wat je gemaakt hebt. Gelukkig worden we hier herinnerd aan de nieuwe maan. Ik ben een dagje te laat maar soms zijn er belangrijker dingen.

Hieronder zien jullie het resultaat.

Marion heeft drie blokjes geborduurd waarvan 1 met een schattig hondje. Op de andere kanten van het blokje staan andere dieren en het patroon is van nenne-design .

Beschrijving voor het speldenblokje (online workshop)

Behalve de geborduurde lapjes heb je een stuk stevig papier, of dun karton nodig. Het liefste in de kleur van de borduurstof.
Verder heb je nodig 2 zijdig plakband en vul materiaal. In plaats van plakband kun je ook houtlijm gebruiken

Snij uit het papier 6 vierkantjes die iets kleiner zijn dan de lapjes. Binnen de stiksteken moet je ongeveer 1-2 millimeter overhouden.

Uit 1 vierkantje snij je weer een vierkant. De rand die over blijft is ongeveer 1 centimeter.

Leg op een geborduurd lapje een stukje papier. Plak langs de rand van het papier een stukje plakband of smeer de rand dun in met houtlijm.

Het papier waar we een vierkant uit gesneden hebben is voor de bovenkant. Let op dat je hier het goede lapje op plakt.

Als het lapje is geplakt ziet het er ongeveer zo uit.
Laat de eventuele lijm goed drogen en zorg ervoor dat het plakband goed vast zit.
Naai twee lapjes aan elkaar zoals we ook hebben gedaan bij de biscornu. (steeds de tegen over elkaar liggende steken aan elkaar naaien)
Naai alle lapjes aan elkaar zodat er een doosje ontstaat. Denk er om dat je de lapjes in de goede volgorde aan elkaar naait zodat het patroontje doorloopt.
Vul het doosje op met vulmateriaal. Vul hem niet te veel op, dan wordt de bovenkant bol omdat daar geen karton zit.
Naai het laatste stukje vast en prik een paar spelden in het blokje.
